World football’s governing body FIFA has fined Ivory Coast’s football federation and imposed crowd restrictions following a deadly stampede at Abidjan’s main stadium last March.

Plateau State Geoffrey Cadet has won the first cycling gold medal in the on-going 16th edition of the National Sports Festival tagged “Kada ‘09”. The cyclist who beat all contenders to the gold in the male1km event pedaled to the finish line in an emphatic style and in good time too, well ahead of the other cyclists from the other states.
