We’ll Spill Blood In Tunis –Olofinjana

Super Eagles midfield ace, Seyi Olofinjana is upbeat on Nigeria’s qualification for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa waving off threat from the Carthage Eagles of Tunisia as mere ranting of a desperate team.

Olofinjana who captained the Eagles against the Harambee Stars of Kenya until Nwankwo Kanu came from the bench in the second half on Sunday said that the team did not play to its potential but happy that the match ended 3-0 which has further helped to boost the Eagles chances of picking the Group B ticket.

The mechanical engineer told SportsDay that the Eagles have resolved to die in Rhades rather than allow the Tunisians to defeat them irrespective of the dollars motivation from the 2010 World Cup Presidential Task Force.

“Tunisia may have stopped Nigeria from going to the World Cup in the past but now  is our turn to pay them back in their own coin,” Olofinjana said. “The match will be difficult but we are not cowed by their threat. We are going there with a rugged determination to pick the three points at stake and nothing will stop us.

“All what had happened in the past has thought us a lesson to be determined and go for victory. They have a good team but I feel that we have the team to do the job in Rhades. We will have the full Eagles team and I know that we will do better than the match against Kenya.”

Olofinjana was outstanding in the last two international friendly matches against Republic of Ireland and France which he attributed to his stint in the English league.

“I know that I’m having a good time now and I can attribute that to my stay in the English league,” he said. “I’m looking forward to a better move because I know that I can play in any of the big teams in the English Premier League. I’m merely waiting for my time to come.”
