Germany Coach Rates Tourney High
German Head Coach, Marco Pezzaiuoli, has rated this year’s FIFA U-17 World Cup higher than the previous editions.
Pezzaiuoli said this in Lagos before his team’s departure.
He told journalists that the standard, officiating and organization of this year’s edition are superb, adding that the German delegation are full of praises for the Nigerian government for hosting a successful competition.
The German coach admitted that the Nigeria FIFA U-17 World Cup lived up to expectations.
“We had a successful outing in Nigeria. We were treated like kings when we came to the country. The hotel we stayed in Abuja and Lagos are first class ones. We really enjoyed our stay in Nigeria,” he said.
The former assistant coach of Karsruher FC described the people of Nigeria as loving, kind and accommodating, adding that “the impression we had about Nigeria is different from what we saw in the country.
“Nigeria has tried their best to host this event. We lacked nothing throughout our stay in Nigeria. We will go back home and tell our people about our experience in Nigeria,” he said.
